An AI agent that resolves, then knows when to back off
Most bots just reply. A resolution agent answers the common stuff, takes the action, and escalates only what needs a human — with full context, not a blank handoff.

There’s a difference between a bot that says something and one that fixes something. Most “AI support” is the first kind: it generates a plausible sentence and calls it a day. The ticket stays open, the customer stays confused, and a human inherits it anyway.
A resolution agent is the second kind. It ends the conversation.
Reply vs. resolve
A reply acknowledges. “Thanks for your message, we’ll look into it!” A resolution closes: confirms the order is arriving in 1–2 days, processes the refund, updates the address. The customer leaves satisfied; the queue gets shorter.
The leap is action. An agent connected to your account data can read the order, take the right step within the bounds you set, and confirm it. That’s support, not a FAQ with extra steps.
The handoff is the part everyone gets wrong
Automation that escalates badly is worse than none — it dumps a confused customer on a human with zero context, and the human has to start over. A good agent escalates with the context: here’s what the customer asked, here’s what I did, here’s what I couldn’t.
So the human isn’t starting cold. They’re picking up a thread.
What this protects
When the repetitive 80% resolves itself, your people spend their time on the 20% that actually needs judgment. Response time on hard cases drops. Morale climbs because nobody’s human autocomplete anymore.
The goal was never to replace your team. It’s to stop spending them on questions whose answer already exists.
